The Gallatin Cattlewomen wish to offer the Gallatin Cattlewomen Scholarship to a student at MSU for the 2020/2021 academic year.  The scholarship offer will be two $1,000 scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year.  

The selection criteria shall be as follows:

  • Full time female student(s) who is enrolled and in good standing at MSU.
  • Female student(s) majoring in an Agriculture-related field.
  • Minimum GPA is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Student(s) can receive scholarship multiple years, but must reapply each year.
  • Preference to student(s) who is from the Gallatin area (Gallatin, Park, Madison, Broadwater, and Meagher counties).
  • Preference will be given to a student with the desire to continue ranching in Montana that fulfills all other criteria.
  • The recipient will be determined by a committee from the Gallatin Cattlewomen.
  • Applicants must be active in any Agriculture-related organization.

The scholarship recipient(s) will be decided annually by a committee of Gallatin Cattlewomen.  Deadline for application is February 1, 2020.  Applications may be submitted via either hard copy or electronically to the address listed on the application form. Scholarship monies will be disbursed to the recipient by the Gallatin Cattlewomen. Checks will be issued to the student recipient after proof of registration for fall semester, 2020, is received by the Scholarship Coordinator.

  • In essay form: 
    • Field of study/major: Why have you chosen this field of study?
    • Background/Agricultural experience/Goals: This personal statement can include achievements, setbacks, skills developed and lessons learned
    • Work/job experience: List any jobs you've held (max. 4) or "no work experience" if applicable
    • Volunteer/Extracurricular Activities: Describe any volunteer work you have done or extracurricular activities in which you have been involved. This could include high school or college activities. Could be related or unrelated to a school setting. Please list any agricultural organizations in which you've participated.
    • Honors/awards: List any honors or awards received (high school or college).
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation (can be a teacher, neighbor, leader in any organization to which you belong, any adult who knows you). These letters of recommendation are to accompany the application and must be submitted by the deadline.
